Body Integration: This year, when did you feel the most integrated with your body? Did you have a moment where there wasn’t mind and body, but simply a cohesive YOU, alive and present? (Author: Patrick Reynolds)
My moment isn’t anything remarkable. In fact, it isn’t a single moment at all. I need a regular mind/body integration fix and I seek it out three nights a week. During those three hours a week my mind and body truly work together to accomplish the movement. Once the warm-up is over it’s impossible to think of anything other than the movement at hand. Muscles, breathing, focus, and will all must be integrated to focus on the same task. For someone like me, who is always in my head, it’s a great thing to be able to quiet my noisy mind and truly connect with my body. It’s in these moments that I am most “me”.
