When I tell people that I’m interested in Polaroid photography they often ask “but isn’t digital better quality?” *Sigh* For me there is something charming and beautiful about the quality of the light and the colours that you get with Polaroid, as evidenced in the photo above. These Pretty Polaroid Notes were created from photos taken by Susannah Conway, Amanda Gilligan and Jenifer Altman. You can buy them at Urban Outfitters or on Amazon. If you’re lucky maybe someone will send you one.

As for me I’ve ordered some expired Polaroid film to try out (I’ve been using the re-engineered Impossible Project film, which is great but different from the original). I’ve also been lucky enough to secure a spot for myself it Susannah, Amanda and Jen’s Polaroid retreat, Instant Love. It’s still a ways off (February) but I’ll be spending a week in Marrakech with these fantastically talented women and a dozen other enthusiastic Polaroid sisters. Imagine the stir we’ll cause in the souk!
